    How to make vanilla mousse

    Estimated time of making: 20 minutes

    Mousse is a dessert dish made from a mixture of cream, sugar, and flavorings (such as chocolate or fruit puree) that is whipped into a light, fluffy consistency. It is usually served chilled and can be made in various flavors. In baking, mousse can be used as a filling or topping for cakes, adding a light and creamy texture to the dessert.

    Ingredients Used

    1 1/2 cups heavy cream, 1/2 cup white granulated sugar, 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, Pinch of salt, 1/2 cup cold water

    Step 1: Mixing Process

    In a medium saucepan, whisk together the cornstarch and cold water until smooth. Add the sugar to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, whisking constantly, until the mixture thickens and starts to boil. Remove from heat and let cool completely.

    Step 2: Add heavy cream

    In a separate large bowl, whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. Gradually fold in the cooled cornstarch mixture until fully combined. Pour the mixture into a large bowl or individual serving dishes.

    Step 3: Refrigerate

    Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or until set. Serve chilled and enjoy!
