Common types of cookies include chocolate chip, oatmeal, peanut butter, sugar, and snickerdoodle. Cookies can be made with or without eggs, and they can be decorated with frosting, sprinkles, or other toppings to make them even more delicious. In addition to being a popular treat, cookies are often given as gifts, served at parties, and used as an ingredient in other desserts such as ice cream sandwiches, cookie dough truffles, and cookie pies.
Bowls, Spoons, Cups
1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1/4 cup milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt
Step 1: Mixing Dry ingredints
In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Mix in the milk and vanilla extract until well combined.
Step 2: Mixing Wet Ingredients
In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Step 3: Bake
Scoop the cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
