How to make strawaberry compote
Estimated time of making: 20 minutes
A strawberry compote is a dish made by cooking strawberries with sugar and other ingredients to create a thick, syrupy sauce. The strawberries are typically cut into small pieces and simmered in a saucepan with the sugar and other flavorings such as vanilla, lemon or orange zest, and sometimes a small amount of water or liqueur. The mixture is cooked until the strawberries are soft and the liquid has thickened.

Pan, Spoon, Bowl
Ingredients Used
2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1/4 cup granulated sugar
Step 1: Mix all ingredients in a pan
In a medium saucepan, combine the strawberries, sugar, lemon juice
Step 2: Heating process
Place the pan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and continue to simmer the compote, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes, or until the strawberries are very soft and the liquid has thickened.
Step 3: Ready
Remove the pan from the heat and let the compote cool. Once cool, it can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
